I’m Deborah Beckett — a mom, wife, runner, and leader of Talent. I’ve lived in North Carolina for most of my life, between Hendersonville (a small town in the western mountains near Asheville) and Durham, next to Research Triangle Park (North Carolina’s “Silicon Valley”).

I started my career in web development after earning a BA in Journalism/Multimedia & Web Design from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the years I’ve also worked in QA and enterprise software implementation, and I now work in recruiting at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and WordPress VIP.

Besides running, I also enjoy embroidery and other textile crafts, chess, travel, and reading.

I use this blog for testing issues and features on WordPress.com, especially related to viewing and publishing content from mobile devices. I mostly show off my kids, but sometimes I write an actual post.
